ByHoping to call attention to an increased demand for food in Chester County – up nearly 50 percent in some areas – a Chester County lawmaker plans to pay tribute tomorrow to the Chester County Food Bank.
Rep. Duane D. Milne (R., Chester) will present the food bank with House Resolution 563, recognizing the organization’s “valiant efforts and vital contribution to the community in feeding the hungry of Chester County,” he said in a news release.
The event will take place at 10 a.m. at the West Chester Food Cupboard, 545 E. Gay St., West Chester. Milne is to be joined by Larry Welsch, executive director of the Chester County Food Bank; Ruth Kranz-Carl, county director of human services; county commissioners; board members of the Chester County Food Bank and the West Chester Food Cupboard; and patrons who rely on their services.
